Day 1 - 12/8

Flight
What a bunch of old people! Holy cow!

We upgraded to economy class since it was such a long flight.

We arrived early into Aruba, but had to wait on the runway for about a half hour because about 10 planes arrived at the same time. It was very hot and not very good. Then, United forgot our forms and we had to wait for the American and United reps to fight it out to find us some. This is all while we were waiting in the customs line. Luckily people told us that this was an unusual circumstance.

Rain
Gina always says that it rains when I arrive somewhere and it did! It rarely rains in Aruba except for the 1st 2 weeks of December.

Caribbean Palm Village
De Palm Tours dropped us off across the street because they couldn't get into the entrance and it was raining and flooded. They do now have sewers and the water piles up quickly. When the sun is out, it clears it up. We didn't arrive till about 6:00 p.m.

The room is nice. It has a bedroom, 2 bathrooms, living room, dining area and kitchen. It's a bit musty/smoky smelling though.

Aunt Phyllis
Aunt Phyllis, you should have come with! Thank you again for letting us buy your Timeshare week. It's really nice here.

Evening
We walked to the hotel zone and had the Prime Rib buffet at the Radisson. The hotel zone is a lot like Las Vegas. There are tons of hotels, restaurants, evening entertainment, etc. I thought that the Radisson was the nicest looking hotel. The Occidental Grand didn't impress me at all. I won $71.50 at the Westin casino and then I quit and watched the band. They were sooo good. I want to watch them every night. They have cool instruments and the guitar player is quite cute (I might add).

Timeshares
I can't believe how many people in Aruba are here staying at Time Share properties. It's pretty much the majority. A lot of them are staing for 2 weeks too. There are many people from New York and Wisconsn here.

P.S. I can't believe all of the men with Howard Williams' style permed hair. Don't they realize that it's acceptable for men to shave their heads?
