Day 8
Packing
I had to re-pack mom, of course. She is the world's worst packer and she buys the worst suitcases. Every suitcase she buys tips over and will not stand upright.
Linda's
We went to Linda's one last time for breakfast. I had the Pineapple/Coconut Dutch pancake today and it was delicious. The couple from Houston that we met at Moomba Beach showed up on my recommendation, so we chatted with them a little bit.
Buen Viaje
We will be leaving today, unfortunately. I always dread this day because I could just stay on vacation forever! Our pick-up is at 12:15 p.m.

Day 7
Dad
We still don't know exactly what is wrong with dad. I had to send Gina an S.O.S. because Patty wasn't e-mailing me and dad was saying some wacky stuff to mom. Today Gina and Patty both e-mailed me to say that he has the Flu, but now he's telling my mom that he has Gall Stones and an infection in his hand and arm. How the heck could he get that? Every time we go away he has issues.
Giselle's
We took one more trip to Giselle's department store this morning. I think mom wanted to cram since it was our last day. She bought a couple of things, but I didn't buy anything.
Pool
We decided to hang at the pool today and work on our tans so it would look like we went to Aruba. The only thing that got burnt was my chest! We hung out at the pool all day.
Lunch
We had lunch at the restaurant called Coco Loco at Caribbean Palm Village. Mom had her millionth burger and I had a club sandwich with egg (of all things). Sounds odd, doesn't it? That's very traditional in Holland. It was good. They make the best Coladas without alcohol. I just love them! I tried a Snowflake today, but much prefer the Coladas.
Dinner
We went to dinner at Moomba Beach again and watched the sun set. It was our first time seeing it here. Dinner was great, as usual. We shared the Mixed Grill, which was two steaks and two chicken breasts. I think it could have served 4! Marcelle was a great host. He really works hard to keep that place hopping. I definitely recommend that restaurant for the service, ambiance and the food.
Rain
It was pouring rain, so mom didn't want to walk a few feet to the Holiday Inn. It was annoying standing there waiting for the rain to subside. I told her that it would only take a minute, but she wouldn't budge. Finally, I told her to put my purse over her head, but she said it was "too small." I told her that I refused to stand there all night, so we left. She went to the Casino and I shopped around. I found an interesting Lizard necklace for $10.00. Then, when I went to retrieve mom, she wanted to go to that store too. She won some at the Holiday Inn again.
Dessert
We had Bananas Casa Tua at Casa Tua for dessert and listened to some live music.
Occidental
We were going to take a taxi from the Occidental, but as we approached, we heard more live music (it's Friday night!). So, we went in and mom gambled and I sat in the lobby listening to the music and waiting for her. She won another $150.00.
Taxi
Finally, we took a taxi back to the resort and it was nice and clean. I asked the driver if it was a Hyundai and I pretty much offended him because it was a Mercedes! They really look the same.
Packing
We started packing and mom has issues trying to get everything back together. Her suitcase weighed over 45 lbs. on the way there and the limit is 50. We brought an extra bag to share, which I don't have any of my souvenirs in, I just have a couple of toiletries to put in that I had in there on the way here. She claims to have much more to put in there yet. I warned her that she shouldn't buy big souvenirs and that she had to re-pack the same way. I don't know why she thinks it's a joke or something. Well, she won't be laughing if they charge her extra at the airport.
